Painting as play & meditation – for 7 women only
Friday June 26th – 7-9pm We will begin our evening with entering into stillness and rest through poetry, music and stillness. Then we will begin the ‘play’ with working with applying texture to a canvas we will use to paint on the following day.
Saturday June 27th 9:30-4:30 We will use the day to flow between stillness exercises and play through painting. The method used will be one I learned from artist Sharon Huget, who learned it from artist Doris Patterson. It is a form of painting with acrylics that encourages playfulness, enjoyment of colour and discovery. No artistic skills needed. Only a sense of childlike fun and play is necessary. Painting in this manner can open up an inner conversation. Many of us are ‘locked’ in perfectionism and what things ‘should’ be. This form of art allows us to ‘play’ and just simply explore shapes and colours with no perfection required.
Held in Cathy’s home studio – (room for 2 overnight accommodations for those that are interested – $50 extra)
$175 (including supplies, snacks and lunch on Saturday)
