Cathy A.J. Hardy is a singer/songwriter, performer, music instructor , poet & retreat leader living in Mission, BC, Canada.
Profoundly connected to the land where she lives and rooted in a deep spirituality, Cathy writes and sings from soul depths. Her lyrics and melodies flow out of the stories of her life. In 2011 Cathy recorded her first solo CD called Love Shines which was nominated for Folk/Roots Album of the Year with the Gospel Music Awards of Canada. She has also collaborated with two other CD projects which were inspired from the Taize music of France; one of these albums was nominated for ‘Inspirational Album of the Year’ with the Gospel Music Awards of Canada. In October 2013 she released her second solo album, ‘i am she…a soul’s journey home’. 2014 will be a year of bringing the songs of this album to the community through concerts, retreats and community events.
Cathy’s Music Studio has become a well-respected business in Mission for the past 11 years. With over 20 years of experience, Cathy teaches piano, recorders, ukulele, voice and most recently world percussion. Cathy has a passion to help students of all ages experience the beauty and joy of music in their lives.
Cathy’s poetry has now been published in the collection of books on Seasons of a woman’s life, Spring: Women’s Inspiration for the Season of Hope and New Beginnings.
Cathy has also been involved in leading contemplative soulful retreats for the past 12 years. Cathy loves creating spaces of healing and restoration for the heart through silence, song and meditation. Cathy leads Soul Care retreats independently and also as an affiliate with the Mark Centre in Abbotsford, BC.
Cathy is the proud mother of grown daughters and she currently lives in Mission, B.C.
